I am an experienced customer-focused designer with a background in apparel design and digital marketing. I love exploring complex problems in search of a delightful user experience. I have years of industry experience in Apparel technical design, working with many exceptional companies. I’m very passionate about transitioning careers as a UX designer, ready to grow, learn and try something new.
My Story
I am an Apparel Technical Designer at a leading uniform design company. My background in digital marketing, web design, and visual design, informs my creative but technical approach to design. I am fueled by my passion for understanding the nuances of user-centered design. I consider myself a 'student forever', eager to both build on my academic foundations in user experience design and visual design, while also staying in tune with the latest digital marketing strategies.
My hunger for knowledge and determination to turn ideas into reality has contributed to obtaining a Bachelor's in Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I majored in Fashion Design in 2010. Since then, I have worked with a multitude of brands, such as Calvin Klein, Moret Group, and Aramark, while traveling internationally sourcing new trends and ideas.
My interest in visual design and digital marketing has sparked my interest in digital product design. Currently, I am transitioning careers from Apparel Technical Designer to User Experience. In December 2021, I received a Bachelor's in Technical Communication (UX) and I know that I can seamlessly transfer my design skills to any UX position.
What I do when I'm not working
I believe in the pursuit of purpose and I prioritize mindfulness in my life. My hobbies and interest include yoga, writing poems, painting, and baking. I am currently selling homebaked goods that incorporate digitized edible prints, as I am always interested in a challenge. If you can't find me at my computer, I'm either traveling with my husband, doing outdoor adventures, or just enjoying a coffee at my favorite specialty coffee shop, Taproom Coffee.
